Its a BOY!

Our baby boy is here! Riley Edwin Hagel was born on March 14th at 4:39 pm.  He weighed 7 pounds, 11 ounces and was 20 inches long. 
When I went to my Dr. appointment the previous Monday (39 weeks), my blood pressure had gone up significantly.  My doctor had me give some blood to test for preeclampsia and come back in the following day to check my blood pressure again and see what my blood work results were. The next day my blood pressure was still high; the nurse checked it then had me lie down for 15 minutes and checked again. My blood pressure went down and my blood work showed negative for preeclampsia.  So my doctor asked me to continue taking it easy and come in again on Friday.  Things were about the same that day.  My blood pressure was high when I came in but went down some after lying down.  My doctor said it was probably in Baby & my best interest to induce me the following week.  He got me set up for induction at 6 am Monday morning!
So Ryan and I got all packed up and headed in to the hospital on March 14th to meet our baby :o)

Once the contractions were strong and consistent enough, I got my epidural. That made everything MUCH better :oP  I was numb enough that it wasn't really painful, but I could still feel contractions and move my legs.  The delivery went really well, and we finally got to meet our little BOY!

Our night at the hospital wasn't too bad. I didn't sleep too well, but Riley was a good boy and didn't cry very much.  Tuesday went by fast. .Riley had a hearing screening, was checked out by the doctor, had a photo shoot, his first PKU... We left the hospital around 5:30 pm and got to take our son home :o)

A Little Behind on Updates, Yes?

OH BOY. I can't believe how time is flying!! Its been a crazy several weeks!! 

We are moved into our house now, but still trying to finish things up and get settled before Baby arrives. 

I will try and get to posting house pictures next week hopefully!

End of January Update

Okie dokie, I'm feeling motivated to write!!

Well, just about 6 more weeks till we get to welcome our sweet baby into the world!!  Its amazing to me how much has changed between weeks 32 and 33... I do still feel pretty good, but things are getting a lot more difficult! This past week I've had a much harder time with backaches, not sleeping well, and just plain exhaustion.  I have a lot of packing to do still, but often don't feel very up to it!  I must say though, I really do still love being pregnant as a whole... I am SO excited to meet my baby, but... at the same time it seems so weird that I won't have a baby inside of me anymore!  I LOVE feeling my baby move around in my belly...  It truly is such an amazing feeling.
Today was really nice; Ryan and I just stayed home and took it easy.  Ryan is starting to really get into the swing of things with his new position at work.  It was a little overwhelming at first, but he is really starting to get things down and enjoying it.  He's getting to know his agents a little better, and his team has been doing pretty well.  I'm so excited for him.  I knew he could do this job well, and I know that people really like him there.  He takes his job seriously and really does work well with people.  I am so proud of him :o)
Tomorrow I will be dropping off our very last rent check!!  Holy cow!  Hopefully that will help motivate me some more on the packing :oP  I'm pretty excited that we get our keys in less than 2 weeks and will be moving in 3!!  By the way I'm taking volunteers to help me with taking down wallpaper, painting, and cleaning..... :o)  My hope is to take down the wallpaper in the master bedroom and nursery and be able to paint before we move.  Also I want to clean the house really well, but I'm avoiding chemicals!  So if anyone is interested... give me a holler!
Well, Ryan just made us some amazing hamburgers and fries, so it is time to go!

I decided I will try to post some pictures for the first time... Some friends of mine from work threw me a baby shower on the 20th, and it was so much fun!! It was so great to see everyone... I'm so glad to be done working, but I really do miss my friends!  So, here are some pictures :o)

Its Official!

We signed all the paperwork at the title company yesterday and officially became homeowners!! We still don't move until next month, but its so exciting and relieving to be DONE with the hassle of paperwork.
I'm working on organizing and starting to pack up our apartment... Its amazing how much stuff we have!

The other super exciting thing is that Ryan got a new position at work!! He's a Team Lead now, which comes with a raise! SUCH a blessing. He is really excited about the job, and his first week has gone well. He has a new schedule, which has positives and negatives, but as a whole its pretty good :o) When he applied he told them he would not work Sundays, so he still has that day off as well as Tuesdays. He works later, which will actually be easier for us with Baby's arrival! Its been kind of weird this week having him coming home after 8pm instead of at 4:30pm... but I'm starting to get used to it! Unfortunately, he's been getting off late too! Then again... I just have to remind myself that means overtime! :oP

Anywho, I'm getting excited for baby showers and moving!! I will post pictures when we get into our house!

Here goes Nothing!

So, I decided to start a blog.  I'm not quite sure what I am doing yet, but it should be interesting :oP

Well, here we are in 2011.  We are in the process of buying our first home, which is a pretty big adventure!  We should be moving in February... and Baby is due March 14th!  The next couple months are sure to fly by with LOTS to do!!  I'm really excited to have our own home before the baby arrives.  I can actually PAINT the walls and put the nursery together the way I want!  No dealing with apartment parking... My OWN washer and dryer... Oh how the list goes on!  We truly are SO incredibly blessed!!  A year ago... I wouldn't have believed that we would be buying a house AND having a baby before our 3rd anniversary...  Good thing God knows better than us!  He really has just opened doors for us, and I'm excited to see what He has in store for us this year.
